December 12 Meeting

Harvest Boutique Committee Update:
  • Dianne Sievers brought items for sale and “forgotten” items, and she thanked the entire Chapter and particularly the committee members for all of their help. She also shared some of the ideas from the committee’s follow-up meeting, graciously hosted by Mary Michele Beaty.
  • In an effort to encourage greater attendance, especially from outside the Chapter, we will hold our Boutique on a Saturday next year.
  • The Buy It Now seemed to go well. However, we want to limit the number of “multiples” to four.
  • We will, in an attempt to streamline the checkout process and keep the noise to a minimum, we will do checkout downstairs, and we will serve food in the dining room.
  • We will do only the silent auction and Buy It Now. Sondra Inman made a suggestion that we pair up with an artist such as we did with the birdhouse this year.
 On a personal note:

  • Deborah Linke thanked people for their help with sewing kits for their trip to Uganda.
  • Brenna Vaughn echoed those sentiments; they were able to touch the lives of over 250 people.
  • Sondra Inman reports that Keys on the Green has a special running on Sunday

October 3 Meeting

On a personal note....

  • Marty Unger’s daughter is expecting a boy.
  • Anne Stuart has one more jewelry show—Saturday, Oct. 5 in Kettering Park in Littleton. She also shared that the Evergreen Chorale production of Jekyll and Hyde is very well-done.

Harvest Boutique updates..

  • Cindy Bose shared information regarding sign-ups. While it looks as though there are many jobs, divvying them up will make it easier for all sisters to enjoy the festivities.
  •  Items may be taken to Cindy Bose’s home (call her), brought to the next meeting, or taken to Marcie Taylor’s home (call her first) after the second meeting in October.
  •  Please complete bid/buy it now forms. This is most helpful to those setting up the auction.
  •  The tablescape for the auction is an English Rose Garden tea party.
  • Marty showed the delightful Christmas ornaments that Mary Jo donated. These will become part of the favors at the Boutique.
  • Mary Michele brought up the idea of a phantom tea.
    • This is a polite request for a donation.
    • The committee will discuss this and share the results of that decision.

September 5 Meeting

On a personal note.....

  • Ginny Longee celebrated her 80th birthday. She shared a need for meals to be dropped at the Family Veterinary Clinic.
  •  Anne Stuart has a juried show at Sloan’s Lake Sept. 14 and 15.
Harvest Boutique:
  • The boutique will be on November 7.
  • Mary Michele passed around the relevant sign-up sheets for the boutique. Please bring food ready to serve so that we can minimize usage of ovens, prep space, etc
    • Please list what you would like to bring so that we may have a variety of foods and beverages.
    • Tablecloths are also needed
    • Dianne Sievers shared “Buy it Now” forms. These and regular bid forms will be sent by Pam via email so that your form can accompany your items.
    • The "Buy it Now" option is new this year. If you are donating a food item, please fill in the item's value on this form so that someone may buy it without bidding. You may also use this option for other small items of your choosing.
      • It was suggested that we have a cashier on hand to take care of "Buy it Now" items on a timely basis.
      •  "Buy it Now" and regular auction bid forms will be emailed to the membership so that each sister may print the appropriate form for each item donated.
      • Completing the forms in advance helps the organizers in a big way
    • Jean Kelly thankfully caught the error on the Save the Date cards, which read November 2 rather than the 7th.
      • If you sent a card to someone, please inform her of the correct date.
    • Invitations for emailing will be available soon, and invitations to mail will be shared at the first October meeting.
    • Items may be brought to both October meetings. Cindy Bose and Dianne Sievers will be happy to collect them. Closer to November 7, items will need to be taken to Marcie Taylor’s home.
