April 12 Meeting

SUGGESTIONS FOR THE GOOD OF THE CHAPTER:

  • Mary Michele Beaty reported that our sister Nan is doing as well as can be expected, and Mary Michele and Melanie thanked sisters for the cards, which Nan appreciates immensely.
  • Marty gifted Jean as a former officer and Pam Renney on her first meeting as President.
  • Nancy Dunkin made sure that sisters signed for yearbooks. Also, she and several others are hosting a healing weekend the first weekend in June near Cottonwood Pass. Clarification whether a person can come for one day and regarding room reservations. If you are interested, please let Nancy know.
  • Tarah Nellis reminded us that convention is that first weekend in June, and she asked for clarification regarding registration as a visitor.
  • Anne Stuart requested that anyone who is able to do so, please give a sister her new yearbook. Several folks offered to deliver both yearbooks and membership cards.
  • Barb Guist had her daughter and grandchildren spending the night.
  • Mary Michele Beaty reported that her daughter Cindy Chicota will be manning the state scholarship committee booth at state. Mary Michele is planning the P. E. O. scholar awards for convention. Colorado has two new scholars for next year, and four women who will be studying in Colorado. Drop by and say “hi.”
  • Pam Renney heard from Clare, who could not make it. Jill Anderson is in S. Carolina, and she will be taking Linda Lambrecht out to lunch.
  • Pam also reported on the “Romp to Stomp” benefit for breast cancer; it was a fun, eventful, and successful event, with 2300 people participating. Could we consider a team for next year? Pam pledges to knit a hat for anyone who will do this snowshoeing event in Frisco.
  • Pam shared a screen print of the Chapter blog. She asked if sisters were fine with having personal concerns posted on the blog. The suggestion was that concerns be put in the P.E.O. Post instead.
  • A suggestion was made that the hostess’s email address be included in the P.E.O. Post so that sisters who are unable to attend are more likely to let the hostess know.
  •  The basket was won by Anne Stuart.
