May 3 Meeting

  • SUGGESTIONS FOR THE GOOD OF THE CHAPTER
  •
    • Congratulations to sisters with May birthdays: Margo Stell, Barb Guist, Cindy Bose, Kim Unger, Joyce Snapp, Martha Zavodsky, Jolain Graf, Susie Beerer, and Cindy Chicota.
    •  Sue Queen and Tarah Nellis will be attending convention.
    •  Mary Michele Beaty and Cindy Chicota are also able to vote because of their membership on State Committees. If you can attend Friday night’s session, please do so, as Mary Michele is in charge of the P.E.O. Scholar program, and it promises to be informative and engaging.
    •  Mary Michele wished us a Happy Birthday as a Chapter, acknowledging the original members who are still in our Chapter and thanking all of us for being her sisters. She reminded us of the treasured bonds and support this Chapter provides for all of us.
    •  Lisa Lindsey shared their P.E.O. bag fundraiser. Members sell them at every event, pitching in to sew them.
  •
  • ON A PERSONAL NOTE
  •
    •  Jill Dirks shared that Anne Stuart will be a vendor on May 12 from 10-5 at C-470 and Kipling, selling her beautiful jewelry. This is an open house for the Front Range Birding Society.
    •  Deborah heard from several sisters:
      • Marty and Don are in Texas at a company retreat.
      • Kathy Bryant is at a financial seminar.
      • Sondra in Charleston at a reunion.
      • Jill is still in South Carolina, and Clare is in Hilton Head. Both will visit Linda Lambrecht.
      • Deborah updated us on her condition. She is closing on a home that is adaptable to her new wheelchair and has help with household tasks; she is doing quite well. Remember, she loves the cards she gets from us.
    • Barb Guist shared a book called Nothing Daunted about two pioneer teachers who came from back East to teach in Routt County.
    •  Sherry has a new grandson, an adopted young man who is twenty and has overcome many obstacles; he is now on track and they are proud to have him in their family. Also one of her trainee dogs, Mattie, went to court to comfort a young girl who needed to testify against her father, and Mattie was a success.
    • Book club is at Anne Stuart’s house next Tuesday, May 8, at 10:00. The book is No Safe Place.
    •  Jean Kelly shared that Sarah is sorry to be missing us, but she is thinking of us as she works nights.
    •  Pam Renney is wondering where the two biography books might be. Please contact her if you know of their whereabouts.
